The 2009 Brandywine Achievement Awards Gala Weekend - October '09

The 2009 Brandywine Achievement Awards Gala Weekend will be the most unusual and exciting event thus far. While each year, we endeavor to showcase a deserving, highly accomplished artist, this year, we turn our focus to the younger generation of artists whose talent and work ethic project to a long and distinguished career.

We are delighted to be able to honor artist, photographer, filmmaker Hank Willis Thomas (Artist Award) and the former chairperson of Philadelphia’s School Reform Commission, Sandra Dungee Glenn (Arts Education Award). The awards program will be held Saturday October 17, 2009 on the 57th Floor of at The Residences at Two Liberty in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Those attending from out -of-town and arriving Friday October 16th, will have the option to attend the opening reception for a major retrospective of the art of Barkley Hendricks at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Friday, October 16, 2009 Opening reception for retrospective of Barkley Hendricks’ Birth of the Cool, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. 4:30-6:00 PM at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Broad and Cherry Street, Philadelphia, PA.
